(By reference to academic literature, explore significant differences from Western models of consumer behaviour in different parts of the world. Using examples, critically evaluate how a company could apply this understanding to create and manage its marketing strategy. 把这段话融入到introduction 里)

The main purpose of this report is to explore significant differences from Western models of consumer behavior in different parts of the world. In the nowadays business world, some theories about the consumer behaviors are always based on the western perspectives and practices. Therefore it is quite necessary for us to know the differences about the consumer behaviors among the western countries and eastern. The customer behavior itself plays in determining the fate and the fortunes of the corporations around the business world. Due to the volatile business environment, understanding the customer behavior and motivation become even more important for the success of business in the worldwide. The key for a company’s sustainable development and growth in an intense competitive marketplace is its ability to find and satisfy the customers needs better than the rivals. As a marketer, you should always bear in mind both the reality and the theory of the consumer behavior. A consumer’s buying habits are always decided by the economic, social, cultural and personal factors. It is a very complex process. This report will be divided into three main parts; in the first part, it will firstly discuss some basic marketing theories such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, 4R marketing theory which proposed by American scholar Don Schultz. Following this, it will list some comparisons and differences about the consumer behaviors, needs among the western and eastern countries and regions. At the final part, it will discuss some marketing strategies about the Burberry Corporation in the western markets. In terms of the changing business environment and applied marketing theories, and then provides some valuable recommendations for the Burberry.
