摘要:本文是在中国英语新课改的大背景下,结合自2007年秋季教育部直属师范院校实行的免费师范生教育政策,进行的关于教师焦虑和信念的实证研究。

我国英语教师信念及焦虑的相关分析

本研究的贡献则在于它帮助职前教师对自身的教学焦虑和教师信念,以及他们的关系有了更深刻的认识。本文作者认为我们应通过更多的教学实践来降低职前教师的教学焦虑,通过优秀教师的指导和额外的课程来加强职前教师的教师信念。

Introduction
1 .1 Background of the Study
    In 2001,the "New National English Curriculum Standard" was issued and has been experimented in Chongqing and many other cities. And this new reform in English curriculum makes both the in-service English teachers and pre-service English teachers have to face the requirements and challenges, including their teaching beliefs, teaching methods and approaches as well as the selection and organization of the teaching materials in China's Education environment. According to Wu Yi'an (2005a: 14), if ``the EFL teachers concerned could not appreciate the underlying principles of the reform and bring them into effect", the reform would be unlikely to be successful, or even "aborted" in his words. Compared with the previous refornz in English Education, the new reform is directly related to those teachers concerned, their educational and teaching beliefs (Hu Zhuanglin, 2004). In Teacher Education area, it is quite important to cultivate pre-service teachers' teaching theories and skills as well as their teachers' beliefs. In recent years, many researchers and experts begin to pay close attention to the issue of teachers' beliefs in the fields of both education and Psychology.
    Up to now, many scholars have dedicated their time to teachers' beliefs issue from different angles and their related factors. For example, some scholars paid attention todistinguishing  beliefs  from  knowledge  (Shavelson&Stern,  1981).emphasized that "teachers' beliefs" are much more useful than teacher's own knowledge
(Pajares, 1992). Other scholars particularly pointed out that teachers' beliefs do not independently exist; instead they have to interact with other things, such as assumptions and knowledge, which together influence both teacher's understanding of teaching activities and usage of teaching strategies (Woods, 1996). In China, more and more researchers have been studying teachers' beliefs in recent years. Among them, we can find "On English Teachers' Belief System" by Liu Hua (2004), Yu Lan's "On Foreign Language Teachers' beliefs Under Social-Constructive Mode" (2004) and Zhu Yonghe's "Teachers' Belief System and Teachers' Professional Development" (2004) and so forth.
These researches involve with connotation and structure of teachers' beliefs, function of teachers' beliefs, and influential factors of teachers' beliefs. Meanwhile, quantitative researches have also been carried out  at home.  Zheng Xinmin's  (2004) research investigated the relationship of teachers' beliefs and classroom teaching of three high school English teachers. Luo Heying and Liao Fei (2005) investigated college English teachers' teaching beliefs, teaching behaviors and their relationship. These researches, however, are mainly on macro and theory-level description. There are few papers concerning about the beliefs of pre-service English teachers.
