摘要:本文是英语论文范文,本研究以语言迁移理念为框架,把吉林大学某学院一个学期的作文作为数据来源自建语料库,对动词错误进行了定性的分析。提出握动词的错误分析对学好一门语言尤为重要。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1Research Background
With the rapid integration of Chinese economy in the international market,English becomes more and more common and it has made a big change of foreignlanguage situation in China in many aspects, including business market, society, andcultural exchange activities etc. English has become an essential communication tool,especially after China taking part in WTO; English plays an important role in China.Thus, to learn English well in China is very important.As we all know, sentence is the basic unit of communication. From someviewpoints we can say learning a language is learning how to make sentences by thislanguage. According to the grammar knowledge, we can know that verbs are the corepart of sentences. That is to say the study of verbs is animportant part of learning alanguage.Language is the basic tool for us to communicate with others. It is obviously thatamong the four basic four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, writing isthe most difficult one to learn. English writing teaching is always the difficult part forteachers to teach. Cultivating and improving students’ ability is the biggest questionfor teachers. For students, when they hear they have to write a composition, some ofthem will become distracted; while for teachers when they do the writing feedbackthey will feel headache about the compositions. This is a common phenomenon.According to this we can get the fact that students’ writing ability is really not verygood. Either in homework or in an examination they do not have a correct attitude toEnglish writing. Even though there are many guide writings, which can help studentsto write the compositions more clearly and logically, there are still many errors instudents’ compositions, especially the verb errors.

1.2 Significance of the Study
As the four basic skills of learning English, listening, speaking, reading andwriting really get a lot of attention.Among these four skills, listening, speaking andreading are the foundation of English learning, while writing is a high level skill,which is often regarded as the evaluation criterion of students’ communicativecompetence. As we all know, rich vocabularies are very important for a good writingand verbs as important parts of vocabularies. It is very common that most of thevocabulary errors are verb errors; we should pay much attention to the verb errors ofEnglish writing.In this research, the author foundnine types of verb errors in Chinese collegestudents’ English writings and analyzed the causes of these errors. Meanwhile theauthor gave some strategies which would be beneficial for both teachers andstudents.

2.1 Error Analysis
According to Merriam-Webster error is something that is not correct. It is awrong action or statement.During the teaching process, errors and error analysis are all inevitable importantquestions. Making errors is very common in learning languages. Errors are oftenregarded as the language learners’ language defect; and they represent the shortages oflanguage teaching.
