There are many varieties of PTFE products manufactured by Shanghai 3F New Material Co., Ltd.(3F). Moreover, its production process and quality system are very normal.
In addition, in order to investigate the effects of catalyst on the manufacture of PTFE materials, PTFE super-hydrophobic film produced by 3F corporate was selected to be as the objectives of study. We made PTFE super-hydrophobic film according to PTFE super-hydrophobic film production process of 3F corporate. In addition, we can change the proportions of catalyst (Polystyrene emulsion, PS) used in the process. In simple words, polystyrene (PS) latex was through the emulsion polymerization, and mixed with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) emulsion according to the different volume ratios to obtain hybrid emulsion. Film was prepared using dip-coating method, and dried at temperature 80 ℃, and heat treated at 330 ℃ and 420 ℃, respectively. When the volume ratio of PS and PTFE emulsion is 0.6:1, super-hydrophobic film was obtained with a maximal contact angle (154.9°) of the film and water. Moreover, surface morphology and chemical composition of the films were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), Jupiter simultaneous thermal analyzer and Fourier infrared spectrometer (FTIR).
