目前主要有两种电话系统:用户交换机(PBX)和按键电话系统(KTS)。PBX和KTS基本相似,不过KTS系统是从PBX系统演化而来的。用户交换机在大型企业、事务所和公司中应用较多,而按键电话系统主要用于小型办公场所。

There is two main telephone system; Private branch exchange (PBX) and A key system or key telephone system (KTS). PBX and KTS are similar but KTS system is evolution from PBX system. Private branch exchange is used in large company, office, corporate and key telephone system is used in small office.
Private branch exchange involves central processor and switchboard operator. Key telephone system operates with key to switching the calls to several internal extension lines. But the main equipments of both systems are same:

Available Features
Some features available in both PBX and KTS systems. The features: to dial other extensions, to dial outside lines, to make an enquiry call to another extension whist connected an external call, to transfer the external call to the extension where an enquiry call had just been made, are four main basic features of PBX and KTS. Below too many features are also available in Private Branch Exchange.
