摘要:本文是英语词汇学论文,本研究基于体裁和体裁分析理论探讨如何把体裁教学法运用于高中英语阅读教学,并提出了适用于高中课堂的教学流程,目的在于在验证体裁教学法在高中英语教学实际中的对于提高学生的英语阅读能力的有效性;并探究其对学生的阅读习惯和阅读兴趣的不同影响。
1 Introduction
This chapter briefly introduces the research, which includes analyzing the existing problems of current situation in teacher’s English reading teaching and students’ English learning in senior high school. So it shows the necessity of finding an efficient teaching model to facilitate students’ learning interest and reading ability. Then it figures out the theoretical and practical significance of the study. At last, the overall structure of this
thesis is summarized.
1.1 Background of the Study
Reading is not only an important way to grasp knowledge and improve ability of language application, but also an important aspect of language use. Reading teaching is the foundation of Chinese English teaching and the teaching syllabus of high school takes improving students’ reading ability as one of the basic requirements and important aims in elementary educational stage. The full marks of recent English university entrance examination papers are 150 points, among which reading comprehension scores 40 points. The article length is totally 1300-1500 words, from which we can see that the reading quantity and reading speed are highly required. And the five passages of the examination belong to different genres, including narration, exposition and argumentation, which shows that current high school reading materials are comprehensive and diverse in genre. Since the 1970s, more and more educators widely respect Genre-based Teaching Approach in American and Australian English reading and writing teaching, whose fundamental aim lies in letting learners interpret the
essay from the point of the discourse comprehension, instead of regarding the
essay as knowledge carrier which includes learning grammar, syntax and morphology. To a certain extent, we can avoid the misunderstanding in traditional teaching methods which see the minute details but miss the major point, and readers can grasp massive structure from macro perspectives to comprehend the communicative purpose and social function of the essay. Recently, the researches of the Genre-based Teaching Approach has obtained enormous achievements overseas and more and more foreign linguists have been paying attention to this model’s role in foreign language learning and trying to apply it in English reading teaching.
