Exploration and Research on the Web-based and Multimedia-assisted English Teaching under Guidance of Task-based Language

  
Abstract
With the development of economy and science, modern English education requires English teachers to actively use the Internet and information technology of rich teaching resources, to develop learning and use of English channels; actively encourage and support students to actively participate in curriculum development and utilization of resources. It needs to inject more new elements into classroom teaching to make glow with vitality of life, thus for optimizing classroom teaching, improving teaching quality. Therefore, appropriate use of modern teaching methods, and the application of multimedia into classroom teaching, has a very important role.

According to "College English Curriculum Requirements" promulgated by the Ministry of Education, multimedia network teaching is a new means and method in college English teaching, also is the direction of development in Chinese college English teaching reform.

Task-based approach (TBA) is a teaching method that takes the task as the core, which is produced in the 1980s, up until now has been adopted in many countries. The theoretical basis of TBA is the linguistics, psychological, and activities teaching theory. TBA has been used in college English teaching, but there are many problems, on this basis, it conducts the task-based teaching experiments under the multimedia-assisted and web-based environment for college English.

Therefore, this dissertation attempts by the author in the use of multimedia in foreign language teaching practice, tries to use a combination of the new model of college English teaching based on multimedia and network technology and the network self-learning model to compare with the original multimedia teaching mode. It aims to study whether the TBA reflects a certain advantage in improving students' English ability, thus explores multimedia teaching mode that in line with the school's practice to improve the college English teaching level; the same time the author points out the limitations of this experiment as well as the reflection for the implementation of networked multimedia teaching model, which provides the practical basis for the further implementation of network-based multimedia teaching.
