Research Question
How new Media has influenced civil rights of the public by means of the case study of the Iranian Election Protest in 2009-2010, the protest of Thai Red Shirts, and the Protest of British students against tuition fees.
Aims and Objectives
With the development of the information technology, the new media has been playing an increasingly important role in the daily life of the public, and the whole world is getting more and more open as well. The role of the new media could be regarded as both positive and negative, in that it could protect the civil right of the public as a convincing mouth while it might violate the right of the public if it has not been well used. The research intends to work out the positive role of new media in the protection of the civil right of the public by means of analysing the function of the new media in the Iranian Election protest, the protest of Thai Red Shirt and Protest of British students against tuition fees.
