摘要:本文是英语语法论文,本文针对我国英语语法教学的这一现状,探讨运用情景式教学法讲授语法并测试它的实效性。笔者于 2015 年 11 月 9 日到 2015 年 11 月 29 日在云南省曲靖市沾益区一农村学校进行了总共 20 天的教学实验。
Chapter One Introduction
Grammar is the base of a language and a necessary condition for a language tobecome a communication tool. Up until now, different language teaching theorieshave had an influence on English grammar teaching. Some linguists and languageteachers believe that in classroom teaching grammar should not be given a salientposition. Many teachers, in their teaching practice, intentionally or unintentionallyavoid some grammar problems; while others hold the idea that grammar is anindispensable part of language teaching, and that grammar is one of the ways toimprove the language competence. After a period of practice and reflection, peoplebegin to rethink the position and role of grammar in the whole language teachingprocess. But this does not mean going back to traditional grammar teaching mode.The emphasis is placed on cultivating learners’ grammar consciousness throughsome meaningful communication activities to make them gradually master the rulesapplied in the language practice.
1.1 Background to the Study
English grammar teaching in China at present is mainly completed in highschool. The teaching at this stage covers most of English grammar. In routine testsand the college entrance examination, grammar occupies a large proportion. In recentyears, with the constant improvement of the middle school English teaching, moststudents have a good knowledge of English grammar. But in the process of practice,there are still some problems in grammar teaching and learning.There exist different attitudes towards learners’ grammatical knowledge andcommunication competence. Traditional foreign language teaching emphasizes the teaching of grammar knowledge to students. Because the Chinese students are lack oflanguage environment as well as English and Chinese have different rules, Englishgrammar learning has become a burden, and grammar teaching, of course, also cannot reach the expected effect. Grammar teaching becomes the ultimate goal of foreignlanguage teaching. Since the introduction of the communicative teaching approachinto China, there have occurred some teachers who think that the primary purpose oflanguage is communication, and the cultivation of communicative competence is themain goal of foreign language teaching. They believe that so long as communicationcan go on, language forms are not important. They have paid much attention onstudents’ mechanical memory of so-called useful sentences and have not given afocus on the grammar foundation in classroom teaching.Some grammar test project is designed to check some grammar rules, not tomeasure students’ practical ability in using grammar. In order to score higher in tests,students spend a lot of time doing grammar exercises, yet they do not know how toapply grammar rules in actual communication.

1.2 Significance of the Study
The importance of grammar teaching in English teaching is self-evident. In viewof the existing problems in English grammar teaching in junior high school, exploringhow to combine the teaching of grammar knowledge and the cultivation of students’language competence is of theoretical and practical importance. While in shops andcompanies, people spend a lot of money and time to design the environment tostimulate customer purchase desire and improve employee's work efficiency, but itdid not seriously considered in education.
