摘要:本文是初中英语教学论文,本次实验首先在学生中进行了问卷调查,目的是了解学生对当前的 3 p 英语语法教学模式是否感兴趣。受试者还做了一个前期测试和一个后期测试,目的在于测量多模态话语分析理论在英语语法教学中的有效性。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1Research Background
Grammar is an important component of language knowledge and an importanttool in language learning and teaching. As one of the three elements of language,grammar is considered to be the ligament of words and one of the most importantinstruments of creating sentences. Wikins claims that if there was no grammar,language could only convey a little information.There are some traditional teaching modes in English class, for example, the 3P(Presentation, Practice and Production) teaching mode and the TBL (Task-BasedLearning) teaching mode. However, these teaching modes all have their respectivedisadvantages and produce less effect in English grammar teaching in our country.The 3P teaching mode emphasizes the process of “Presentation”, “Practice” and“Production”, but it often fails to arouse students’ learning interest and enthusiasm.The TBL teaching mode prescribes that knowledge should be acquired by finishingtasks. However, in this way the teaching effects are not easy to achieve. Therefore, toimprove English grammar teaching, it is necessary to try some other teaching modes.With the rapid development and pervasive application of informationtechnology, computer and multimedia technology has been rapidly and widely usedall over the world, which not only has accelerated the economic and socialdevelopment, but also has brought a new revolution to the education field.In recent years, the multimedia teaching mode based on multimodalitydiscourse is widely applied in the teaching practice, which has provided a neweducation channel and education mode and has improved teaching and learningeffects. For example, in most of the schools in China, teachers are using multimediato prepare and present their teaching design and teaching materials in order forstudents to understand knowledge more directly and easily. However, for one reasonor another, the advantages of multimodality teaching mode have not been broughtinto full play in English classes, with the result that most students still havedifficulties in their English learning practice.

1.2Research Objective
Since the beginning of the 21st century, with the rapid development of globaleconomy, English, as a lingua franca in the world, has been playing a more and moreimportant role in both economic activities and social communication. As a result, inthe process of cultivating comprehensive talents, English teaching should draw moreattention of the whole society. In the English teaching practice, as a basic phase oflearning English, junior high school is an important phase, and the formation oflearning habit in this phase will have a profound influence on students’ entire learning process. As one of the basic learning contents, grammar provides basis forcreating sentences, which is essential in both written and spoken English. However,the teaching status is worrying in junior high school in our country. According tosome surveys, most students have little interest and enthusiasm in English grammarclass. So it is vital for junior high school teachers to find an effective teaching modeto attract students’ attention and improve their grammar level.This study intends to analyze the current situation of English grammar classunder the 3P teaching mode and to test whether the multimodality teaching mode, analternative, can attract more interest of students in English grammar class andimprove students’ perform
