  1.1 The Background of the Research研究背景
  在最近几年,越来越多的研究已经完成身体语言,特别是对教师的身体语言和身体语言与其他特殊专业。借助计算机科学的飞速发展,研究肢体语言变得比以前更为复杂和先进。最新的研究结果有助于人们进一步了解和适当的身体语言在不同的情况下使用。More and more researches have been done on body language in recent years,especially on teacher body language and body language associated with other specificprofessions. With the help from the rapid development of computer science,researches on body language becomes much more complicated and advanced thanbefore. The latest findings help people to further understand and make use of properbody languages in various situations.https://www.51lunwen.org/yingyujiaoyubiye/  However, researches on the body language ofpre-service English teachers are barely found home and abroad. Considering the greatpotential relevance between teacher body language and teaching effects,theresearches on pre-service teachers' body language and even on the training ofpre-service teachers' body language is inevitable. And the advanced computersoftware and hardware will be used in more and more body language researches toachieve the precision and scientificity.


  
  1.2 Research Purpose研究目的
  The purpose of the research is to explore pre-service English teachers' cognitionsand the level of using teacher body language. Through a careful analysis, conclusionswill hopefully be made on the relevance of teacher body language and teachingperformance level.


  
  1.3 The Significance of the Research研究的意义
  The research reported here attempted to explore the cognitions and the use ofteacher body language by pre-service English teachers. Although many studies havebeen made on the general concept of nonverbal communication and body language,researches on pre-service English teachers' body language are scarce,especially inChina. Considering the great importance of teacher body language in teacher-studentcommunication and interaction, more attention should be paid to the cultivation ofproper teacher body language during the teachers' per-service period. Another novelaspect of the research is the application of the updated research tool specifically1designed for the research of body language—ELAN (EUDICO Linguistic Annotator).


  
  1.4 Hypothesis and Research Questions假设和研究问题
  The research takes the hypothesis that there is relevance between the teachingperformance level and the level of using English teacher body language; pre-serviceEnglish teachers with different teaching levels show different levels of using teacherbody language.Through a careful analysis, the research is trying to answer the following questions:(1)What is the general status of teacher body language of pre-service Englishteachers?(2)What are the attitudes and the cognition on teacher body language by pre-serviceEnglish teachers?(3)Is the pre-service English teachers' body language level relevant to their generalteaching performance level?
