Abstract：During these years, Friends is becoming more and more popular, especially among the students in English Department. To improve students’ ability to communicate with foreigners smoothly, the author chooses this issue “Dialogue Analysis of Friends” to find out the conversational barriers and the main reasons which cause these barriers in the dialogues in Friends.
The author mainly analyzes the dialogues of Friends in three chapters. In chapter one, the theoretical review is discussed. In this chapter, the theory of Direct Speech Act, the theory of Indirect Speech Act and the theory of Conversational Interaction are introduced. In chapter two, the phenomena of conversational barriers in the dialogues in Friends are dealt with. They refer to taking Indirect Speech Act for Direct Speech Act and Rough Conversational Interaction. In chapter three, the reasons for conversational barriers in the dialogues in Friends are expressed. The reasons are different social background, and different gender. In the end it comes to the conclusion that through the analysis of dialogues in Friends, the author will make the readers have a clear understanding of the unique life style as well as the conversational mode of Americans. In this way readers can also see the conversational barriers in the dialogues in Friends, and the reasons which cause these barriers. Then the readers can deepen the understanding of Western language and culture, and then reduce the conversational barriers and promote the conversations carrying on smoothly.

摘要

这些年来，《老友记》在学生中越来越流行，特别是在英语专业学生之中。 为了促使学生与外国人顺利地沟通，作者选择这个论题：《老友记》中的对话分析，探讨会话障碍和造成这些会话障碍的主要原因。
本文运用三个章节对《老友记》进行会话分析。第一章理论回顾，包括直接言语行为理论，间接言语行为理论和会话应对理论。第二章呈现《老友记》中的会话障碍，把间接言语行为误作直接言语行为和不顺畅的会话应对。第三章呈现造成这些会话障碍的原因：不同的社会背景和不同的性别。通过对《老友记》的会话分析，读者可以清楚的看到美国人独特的生活方式和会话模式。读者也能看到会话中的障碍和导致这些障碍的原因。于是，读者能加深对美国语言和文化的理解，减少会话中的障碍，促进交谈顺利地进行。
