Such a political ideal gives the discourse power of Chinese a uniquemission to promote the development of China's rise as well as to ensure the peacefuldevelopment of China. Based on the strategic objectives and specific culturalconditions of China's peaceful development, the strategic framework for Chineseculture in the future is mainly composed of the following three aspects. Firstly, Chinashould develop its cultural power commensurate with those of big powers in theworld. With the improvement of China in the world，it should strengthen the affinityof its culture, and bear a global cultural responsibility that a great power should have.Secondly, the strategic fields of the national culture should be timely expanded.Active strategies should be adopted to promote the strengthening of the discoursepower of Chinese so that the traditional Chinese works can have a great influenceabroad. Thirdly，the translation from Chinese to English is a good way to spread thediscourse power of Chinese. Such kind of means will realize the discourse power ofChinese abroad.To conclude, the main significance of this research mainly lies in which, througha comparative study of two English versions of Fu Sheng Liu Ji, the more suitable orappropriate ways of realizing the discourse power of Chinese can be found. Suchways are the basis and can shed light on the realization of the discourse power ofChinese in general.

 

1.3Introduction to Fu Sheng Liu Ji and Its Two English Versions
Fu Sheng Liu Ji is the unique work of Shen Fu( 1763-1825)，which the twoChinese Characters Fu Sheng was cited one of the sentences in Li Bai's poem “er fusheng ru meng, wei huan ji /2e?(而浮生如梦，为欢几何？）”. There are six volumesin the book: Wedded Bliss (giii fangji le)，The Little Pleasures of Life (xian qingji qu).Sorrow (kan ke ji chou)，The Joys of Travel (lang you ji kuai). Experience (zhong shanji li) and The Way of Life(yang Sheng ji dao). The original script of Fu Sheng Liu Jiwe read today is not complete. The manuscript was found by Yang YinZhuang, thebrother-in-law of Wang Tao in Suzhou, with only four volumes remained and the lasttwo Chapters lost. The World Book Company was engaged in publication of it inShanghai during the 1930s. Although it was claimed that it was a complete manuscriptof the book discovered, the last two which it presents are known to be false and hasbeen copied from other works.Fu Sheng Liu Ji is similar to xian qing ou ji(闲情偶记)by Li Yu and you mengying(幽梦影)by Zhang Chao on the genre, which belongs to essays in the Ming andQing Dynasty respectively. Each volume of Fu Sheng Liu Ji has its own theme.Volume I is about the joy in boudoir, which mainly about Shen and his wife meetingeach other and their simple happiness in life. Volume II describes the elegant or quietlife that Shen Fu maintains from childhood to adulthood. Volume III is in memory ofvarious frustrations and worries in life. In Volume IV，the vagrant life is talked about.He enjoys the beauty of the mountains and sceneries by traveling around.
