摘要:This paper is just discussing the translation of trademark of commodities for female from the angle of the aesthetic principle and method .In this paper, the author uses some theories of translation, such as literal translation, free translation, and also some aesthetic principle, such as the beauty in sense, sound and form.
e thinking from the “黛安芬”to“黛安娜”(Diana). As soon as the women consumers see such a name, they are supposed to immediately like it. People will take it for granted that they will be as charming as the Diana in the underwear with such a name. Without a doubt, it activates the purchasing desire. As you could see, this is the function in translations played by beauty in form. Avon, the American famous cosmetics, which can be translated into “雅芳”. This name has “雅”and“芳” to stand for manners, temperament and fragrance. From its name, the female consumers feel that their skin will become delicately fine and smooth. Also, it will generate a kind of unique temperament. Avon, a house hole name, not only guarantee high quality and but also produce an unforgettable and attractive name.
Guerlain, the France cosmetics, whose
translated name is “娇兰”. It still adopts words symbolizing feminine and
flowers. It makes the similar effects: the consumers think if they use
this kind of makeup’s they will have skin like a newly born baby or as
beautiful as an orchid. Good trademark translations win more consumers
than others.
