摘要:This paper is just discussing the translation of trademark of commodities for female from the angle of the aesthetic principle and method .In this paper, the author uses some theories of translation, such as literal translation, free translation, and also some aesthetic principle, such as the beauty in sense, sound and form.

The method of literal translation is
not always used when we translate the trademark of the commodities for
female into Chinese. It is just only suit for these trademarks which
have beautiful meaning, have unique name and have magnificent diction.
Like those trademarks, we can use the method of literal translation .For
example,
Red Earth( the Austrian cosmetics), which can be translated into “红地球”.
Blue Dolphin ( the English jewelry), which can be translated into “蓝海豚”.
Victoria’s secret (the American bra) which can be translated into “维多利亚的秘密”
All the above examples are used
literal translation. According to the theory of aesthetic, it can
achieve the effect of beauty in form.
3.2 Transliteration
Transliteration is the method
that takes the phoneme as the unit, and retains the original
pronunciation in the text of translation in order to prominent main
language function in the original text.
We always just translate the
pronunciation of the words when we use the method of transliteration. In
the translation, we use the word which is the same, similar or close
pronunciation with the original word or the homophony, as a result, the
translated trademark is easily understood. Especially the trademark
which is named by Proper Noun and Fabricated Word, in the translation,
the method of transliteration is very suitable. The translated name is
faithful to the original trademark which has the function of attracting
consumers, at the same time, it also retains the beautiful sound of the
original trademark. Although the translated name is not conform to the
conventional combination pattern of Chinese, it does not have difficult
or uncommon word, and has the function of catering the female consumers’
curiosity. For example,
Laneiqe, a kind cosmetics of Korea, which can be translated into“兰芝”.
Wacoal, the Japanese bra ,which can be translated into“华歌尔”.
Azulerous, the France women’s dress ,which can be translated into“爱吉蕾丝”
Generally speaking, in order to
attract consumers, when we use the method of transliteration to
translate the trademark of the commodities for female, we’d better
stress the character of foreign word in diction. In this way, the
translated name of trademark is full of foreign—tasting, exotic
atmosphere, it also has the function of causing the consumers to image.
3.3Free Translation
Free translation is also called
creative translation, and a supplement of conventional method of
translation. (The conventional method of translation such as
transliteration, literal translation and so on) Some translation of
trademark does not use its literal meaning directly, but according to
the characters of the commodities, we create the translated name which
has special meaning.
Generally speaking, when the name of
trademark consists of ordinary vocabulary, we use the method of
transliteration. Those translated name of trademarks always come from
their metaphorical meaning or symbolic meaning of original name. Some
examples are given on using the method of free translation
Joy&Peace,
the Hong Kong women’s shoes, which is translated into “高兴与和平” according
to its literal meaning. We cannot find the shoes’ function, according
to the translated name of literal translation. But we translate
