Learning a second language for most learners is very difficult, especially for the children in beginning level. They feel it is boring, hard to remember and stressed. It is a most direct and simple expression of them. When they are drawing, children actually express their understanding of life and feelings with the colorful pencils. The bright colors can stimulate the optical nerves, to inspire imagination and improve memory. Drawing can train and develop children's power of observation, memory, imagination and creativity; it can also broaden their horizons, enrich their knowledge and promote the development of their language.

By integrating the arts and art making into English language teaching and learning, learners will develop and deepen their understanding of their own and others experience. The visual arts enhance language development by offering non-verbal methods for communication and understanding, and by supported a platform for the students to create the mental images (Azios, M 1975). Integrating the arts into language arts and the content areas for second language teaching and leaning can give learners the opportunity to engage in new and varied approaches while gaining positive emotional responses to learning, understanding others and communicating their own idea.
 
Art is an effective method in a second language teaching. Art can transform some abstract boring texts into the visible—audible interesting content. It cannot only stimulate the interests in students’ English learning, but also can provide a real language-learning environment to students. They can express ideas and feelings through art, which is also of immense value where students are at the beginning stages of English language. Using Art is helpful in the Second Language Acquisition (Carre, I 1996). In combination with reading, writing, speaking and listening, the arts can open doors for high levels of analysis and also challenge learners to explore themselves and their surroundings, and thus find avenues for sophisticated comprehension and communication.
