We rely on our sense of sight very often and our sense of sight relies on different things like our brain and our beliefs. Images we see are made to recreate time and reproduce things which were once there and are not there now. Unlike real objects, images can last forever or at least for a long time to create a sense that the object in image is still there. Author also says that we recognize pictures regardless of the name written on the picture or image. For example, Mona Lisa is one of the most famous paintings of the renaissance period but if you tell someone that it is not a Mona Lisa it is Virgin of the Rocks, if he knows than he will definitely deny that it is not Mona Lisa.

Paintings are used for many purposes throughout the history in a way to preserve a memory of a person, or place or object. It also used by many rich people to made there mistresses happy or to keep a good looking portrait of someone. We see images all around us and we are so dependent on our sight to convey a message through different medium. The invention of camera made images more demanding and detail because people can see everything in more detail and it is easier to produce than an oil painting. Camera and other advanced technology have changed the perspective of looking at art because now people can look at original painting from thousands of miles away siting in their homes watching on their TV's. Author says that art is now available everywhere and free and this is reason why most people do not like the art of the past.

In chapter 2, author shows us some paintings in which some females are posed nude and in some paintings there is advertisement too. All images are very male centered and it is clear that these images are intended to be for male audience. These images are not from a female perspective but from the male perspective because males are dominant in society. In few images, it is certainly clear that these images are from male perspective because the poses those ladies have in the picture are not looking so comfortable and these are just to flatter the male audience.

Author also shows how women are been used as an object to sell things and the problem is, now people accept this, they think it is normal. Women and men were created equal and they should fulfill each other's desire but from the start of the time only women is depicted in paintings to fulfill the desire of men. Sometimes women show as ideal to other women and that is how advertisers sell things by using women in their commercial.

Women are represented as object rather than the human beings like men. They are presented according to a male perspective because the women shown in many paintings have poses which are only appealing to male. One thing which is very unacceptable that in paintings only female are presented nude but the male are either covered or siting in a pose where their bo论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
