tails to be safe at work.

Literature review

An important aspect of physical ergonomics is the visual assessment. This is very important in so many ways because one must be able to have clear vision in order to note other safety aspects. So much information is provided to us by vision as compared to all the rest of the senses that were accorded to us by the almighty. Due to this important factor, the conditions of work place necessary for performance of the eyes need to be taken into consideration.

In as much visual instincts are in a number of ways superbly fine, in further ways it is deceiving. For example, the length of a pen viewed at close range and viewed at more than 500 meters away may be clearly interpreted by the observer. Another example is the way the eye perceives color of different objects in different working environments. The color of an object viewed inside a closed room may vary from the color of the same object viewed outside the room. These two examples differ from one another in the sense that the in the former visual execution is based on the quantity of light while in the later it is based on its quality.

To come up with the best performance needed for sufficient visual of object at the work environment one has to put into consideration a lot of different aspects of the environment at large. As an example, imagine on wants to incorporate the number display (the one containing the amount of fuel pumped and the price to be paid) of the reading meter in a petroleum pump. One would quickly jump into conclusion that the legibility of the characters to be read and the height of the reading meter to cater for all vehicle heights. But there is more to it than meets the eye. Its design should answer the questions regarding the time of use e.g. daytime or at night. Is the lighting going to be needed only inside the display glass or also around its environment? The type of light to be used should also be put into concern i.e. yellow light, fluorescent etc. to produce unnecessary reflections, the choice of light used should be put in a good angle relative to the observer's position. It is obvious from these factors that the assessment of the visual environment is not merely based on the level of the light relative to the observer. There is a notion that in order fro vision to be affected, there must be light. In as much as there is truth that the human eye has photoreceptors that react to light they do not indicate the exact level of light. In as much as the eye can function in any place, at an instance it is limited to a particular range. It is due to this adaptation of the human eye that we have deprived absolute visual judgment as compared to the almost perfect relative one.

When a section of an object being viewed has an upper luminance than its environment then some slight discomfort will be felt around the eyes. This phenomenon has been under studies for hundreds of years and yet the physiological aspects of论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
