局限性——Limitations

The respondents who participated in the study were assumed to have given their honest reply to the questions in order to draw valid conclusions from the data. Several limitations present when interpreting the findings. It is important to note that individual beliefs and values may have been influenced by the social environment. The proportion of the sample size was relatively small and only applied to UK workers and not Calumet employees around the world


发现和结果——Findings and Outcomes

Gender: In this study, 74% of participants where male and 26% where female.

Age: The largest group of respondents was aged 35 - 44 (48.4%), followed by those aged 45 - 54 (26%). Respondents in the early stage of their career (22 - 34) made up about 22.5%, while the smallest group were those aged between 55- 64 who only represent 3.2% of the responses. No respondents were above the age of 65 or under 21 years of age.

Job tenure: Almost a third of the respondents (29%.) have been working at calumet between 1 and 4 years. However, (25.8%) of respondents have remained in their current job for more than a decade. The same amount of respondents (25.8%) have been employed between 5 and 9 years. With 9.68% working at calumet less than a year but also the same amount of people employed for more than 15 years. Looking at the results collectively 61% of respondents have been employed at calumet for more than 5 years suggesting Calumet do not have a high turnover of staff.


职业发展——Career Development

The results show that 82% of the participants are actually satisfied with their current job at calumet with 77% of people have plans and aspirations to progress within the company. 95% enjoy their work at calumet. However 36% of respondents are actually seeking alternative employment.

67% agreed that Job-related education opportunities where provided at calumet. Although only 50% of calumet employees agreed and 5% strongly agreed that Calumet offers good opportunities for professional growth. The remaining 45% believed there are no opportunities for them to grow professionally

Relationship with Management

50% of participants strongly agreed they had a good relationship with their immediate supervisor whilst a further 35% agreed they also had a good relationship with their immediate supervisor.

60% of employees agree there is effective two-way information between employees and top management with a further 10% strongly agreeing.

62% agreed and 7.5% strongly agreed that their work group had regular discussions to review our performance, discuss common problems, or plan ways to improve.

57% agreed and a further 17% strongly agreed that they get recognition for the contributions they make.

57% agreed with 17.5% strongly agreeing that When a decision is made involving their area of responsibility, they were involved in the decision making process.

Pay

45% of employees agreed that there wages where sufficient to keep them looking for alternative employment with 45% disagreeing and 15% strongly disagreeing.
