摘要:本文是一篇英语教学法论文,根据英语写作教学的现状,本研究旨在探索如何将支架理论应用于高中英语写作教学。本研究以支架理论为基础,通过一个教学实验,探讨如何在写作的各个阶段为学生搭建支架。
First, scaffolding that provides support such as language scaffolding, situationalscaffolding, positive psychological scaffolding, interactive scaffolding and evaluationscaffolding can be offered to help students in English writing teaching. All these kindsof scaffolding play an active role in the students’ writing process. Only when teachersbuild rich and diverse learning scaffolds appropriately and timely, can they helpstudents achieve the goal of self-constructing the framework of knowledge (J. Li,2020). In the pre-writing stage, it is important to construct language scaffolding, suchas vocabulary scaffolding, sentence pattern scaffolding and discourse structurescaffolding. Because these scaffolds enable students to accumulate useful writingmaterials and they are conducive to making good use of vocabulary, sentence patternsand discourse structure. When introducing a writing topic, the situational scaffoldingprovides a good teaching situation and stimulates students’ learning enthusiasm. In thewriting stage, it is essential to provide positive psychological scaffolding for studentsbecause it can create a relaxed writing atmosphere and assist them with gainingconfidence in writing. After finishing writing their own essays, interactive scaffoldingis provided to have students shared their writing achievements, supported each otherand revised essays together. In the post-writing stage, students gradually know how toevaluate their essays with the aid of the evaluation scaffolding.
Second, English writing teaching based on scaffolding theory can increase students’ interest in writing and have a positive impact on students’ writing. It is ofgreat significance to apply scaffolding theory to English writing teaching in highschool. It can not only effectively stimulate students’ interest and enthusiasm inwriting, but also enable students to master relevant writing strategies and improvetheir writing skills (Wu, 2019). The data of the questionnaire before the experimentshowed that most students are not fond of English writing class. The reasons are asfollows. For one thing, it is because the students have a weak foundation in Englishand there are problems existing in vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, languageexpression, etc. For another, it is because most teachers’ writing teaching methods aresingle and rigid that cannot arouse students’ interest in learning and cannot berecognized by them. After two semesters of teaching experiments on applyingscaffolding theory to writing teaching, the study has found that the teaching methodbased on scaffolding theory can develop students’ interest in English writing. After theexperiment, the vast majority of students’ vocabulary has been enlarged, the use ofsentence patterns in writing is more accurate and the overall structure of the article ismore logical. It indicates that English writing teaching based on scaffolding theory inhigh school has a positive impact on students’ English writing and helps to improvestudents’ writing skills.
