摘要:本文是一篇英语教学法论文,基于研究和实验以及问卷调查、课堂观察、访谈和测试得出的结论,作者发现STA可以改善农村初中学生对英语语法的态度,可以提高他们的语法成绩和英语综合能力,但在某些方面还需要进一步加强,大多数学生对STA持积极态度。

本文是一篇英语教学法论文,笔者认为STA在农村初中英语语法课堂上的应用使更多的学生认识到语法对英语学习的重要性。STA激发了他们对英语语法学习的热情,激活了英语语法课堂,促进了师生之间的交流,在一定程度上,减轻学生学习英语语法的恐惧;

CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

English grammar has a very important position in English teaching in juniorhigh schools,but in the English teaching of junior high schools,there are still manyproblems in China.Since the early 1980s,grammar teaching in junior high schoolsin China has mainly adopted grammar-translation approach that takes mother tongueas the teaching language and adopts the form of sentence translation to teach Englishgrammar.It emphasizes the interpretation and memorization of English grammaticalrules,but neglects the cultivation of communicative competence of grammaticalknowledge.This kind of grammar teaching results that the students'grammaticalknowledge can only be used in examinations,not as a tool of communication.As theshortcomings of grammar teaching approach are constantly reflected,combined withthe introduction of communicative teaching ideas,the rudiments of Englishgrammar teaching in foreign countries have once again weakened the momentum ofjunior high school English grammar teaching.Some teachers put too much emphasison students'communicative competence in the social environment and neglect theteaching of students'basic knowledge.As a result,Students can imitate teachers’examples for simple communication,but in fact,not even the most basic knowledgeof grammar can eventually lead to that the development and promotion of students'communicative ability are both hindered.Hymes(1972)states that a person'smastery of a language is measured by his ability to use the language for basiccommunication,not by his ability to write grammatically correct sentences,thisreflects the importance of communicative function in grammar teaching.

1.2 Objectives of the Study

According to the cognitive level and psychological development characteristicsof junior high school students,this study creates a concrete situation which accordswith the requirements of teaching materials and the reality of life and uses advancedteaching equipment and activities to carry out teaching.Therefore,the purpose ofthis study is to apply the situational approach to English classroom teaching and tocreate reasonable situations to stimulate students'interest in learning Englishgrammar,improve students'grammar scores and comprehensive language skills,andcan be shown in the results.

The purpose of this study is to apply STA to the teaching of English grammar inorder to make students approach to their life in the learning situation of grammarand have a pleasant atmosphere for mastering and understanding grammar,topromote student’interest in learning grammar,so that their grammar results can beimproved,and at the same time improve their English communicative competence.In addition,on the basis of this study,many English teachers can accuratelyunderstand and be familiar with situational teaching,so that,in the future,grammarteaching can be combined with all kinds of situational teaching resources around us,so that the constructed teaching situation can be close to students'study and life,andthe final effect of grammar teaching can be improved with the help of situationalteaching.
