摘要:本文是英语翻译论文,在本文中,笔者着重翻译错误,试图用EA探讨翻译错误的原因,寻找有效的方法来减少高一学生翻译错误。笔者希望本文的研究能够给一些建议,为提高教师的教学效果,帮助学生提高他们的翻译能力。
1. Introduction
1.1 Background of the Research
No.8 Senior High school in Yining is an ordinary school. In the present stage of Englishteaching in high school, the teachers pay attention to students’ translation ability is far lessthan listening, speaking, reading and writing ability. Under the pressure of the examinationoriented
Education, English teaching in senior high schools often pays more attention to thecultivation of students’ vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing ability, while neglecttranslation teaching. Therefore, the students’ translation ability is weak.EA supplies a new point of view to research on errors in translation. As a matter of fact,there are a lot of errors in students’ translation practice, and they can be classified intodifferent types. It is necessary and important to analyze errors, for the reason that teachers,scholars and learners could study on the errors to look for the better way for both translationteaching and translation activities. In this respect, EA used in translation can provide someuseful information and evidence for teachers, researchers and students for better and furtherstudy.

1.2 Significance of the Research
It is essential and necessary to find the common errors in students’ translation. Presentresearch supplies some evidence and information for teachers, researchers and students, whichwill be discussed as follows. The significance of this research will be introduced fromtheoretical and practical significance.The research supplies research data for other researchers about the EA of senior onestudents’ C-E translation for future study. Besides, this research enriches the output theory andEA theory to a broader sense. In addition, teachers can enrich their theoretical knowledgeabout English translation. It is helpful for English teachers to use EA theory to adjust theirinstruction of English translation.This research findings may contribute something to the translation teaching and learning.First for teachers. EA provides information for teachers about what difficulties thelearners have in translation. If teachers have a good knowledge of learners’ learning process,they can take some reviewing time in a suitable way to improve their teaching efficiency.Besides, EA is beneficial for the teachers to decide if they can move on the next item or hadbetter concentrate more on the item that hasn’t been mastered. According to students’ errors,teachers can make corresponding teaching schedule.Second for students. EA is indispensable to the learners themselves, because it can helpstudents to know their weakness in translation and the causes of translation errors, so they willspend more time on the language knowledge what they have not mastered.Third for researchers. EA provides researchers evidence of how language is learned oracquired, what strategies or procedures the learner is employing in his or her discovery oflanguage.In fact, errors occur frequently in students’ translation practice, and many students thinkthat translation is difficult. Therefore, in this
thesis, the author focuses on translation errors,trying to employ EA to explore the causes of translation errors and to search for effectiveways to lessen errors of senior one students’ translation. The author hopes that this researchcan give some suggestions for teachers to improve their teaching effect and help students toimprove their translation ability.
