Nowadays, we teach English, study English, use English as a communicative tool. We can not communicate with others without thinking. Generally speaking, like other thinking way .English thinking way is natural and acquired by member of a society as they study English. Once it is acquired .It become intuitive that is to say that user is not aware when he or she use it .The ability to think in English is often regarded as one of the fundamental qualities in the mastering of English.
At present , foreign language teaching has been out of the stagnation of the “grammar-translation method” into communicative era .English has really been as Communicative tool to teach to learn and communication can not do without thinking ,on the one hand , people express own idea with an external language ,on the other hand ,people express own idea with internal reflection .Stalin said; “ The language is directly contact with the mentality ,” Indeed ,no thinking will have no language .Since the relationship between language and thought is so close ,training English thinking appears to be particularly important in English teaching .
Now ,English thinking way is so important for students who are studying English .Any English as a foreign language (EFL) program ought to include in the curriculum the teaching of English thinking way .Students of English should be trained to make use of English thinking way ,to express their idea ,emotions and feelings in the some way as native English speakers .And English learner who has not acquired the competence to use English thinking way as the English people can not be regarded as having English proficiency .
Moreover ,different cultures have different thinking way .Chinese students of English have their own thinking way peculiar to the Chinese culture .We do not find many thinking way that are universal in the world .There are certain thinking way that are not used in the Chinese culture and there are others that are only used in English speaking countries .Special efforts must be made to teach Chinese students of English that part of English thinking way .That is not shared by the Chinese cultures ,otherwise misunderstanding on even disasters may result when they try to communicate with native speakers of English .
English thinking way is very useful for Chinese students of English .Teachers should be encouraged to use in the English as a foreign language classroom .And if a teacher can teach their students with English thinking way .It can enliven the learning atmosphere and dispe
