摘要:本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,本研究在建构主义学习理论、合作学习理论和情境学习理论的指导下,在太原市山西现代双语学校进行了为期16周的研究,旨在探讨基于问题的学习模式在英语阅读教学中的应用效果。

本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,本研究基于问题的学习模式的应用对英语线程教学有着积极的影响。然而,在教学过程中仍然存在一些困难和挑战。因此,本文提出了一些教学启示:首先,基于问题的学习模式要求学生和教师都要有探究问题的意识。一方面,教师应具备扎实的综合素质和对各方面知识的良好理解,并做好充分的课前准备。另一方面,学生需要改变传统的学习观念和方法。学会自己分析和解决问题,认识到教师在学习过程中只是一个助手,是解决问题的领导者。

Chapter One Introduction


1.1 Research background

In the context of the new curriculum standard, teachers should renew the original teachingconcepts and teaching models, and teachers should carry out meticulous teaching design, enrichteaching activities, positive classroom evaluation and timely after-class reflection to promote theinternalization and absorption of students’ knowledge, and encourage students’ learning anddevelopment (Wang, 2009). As one of the main forms of language input, reading has alwaysbeen an essential English teaching content. English reading can cultivate learners’ languageawareness, promote learners to improve their language and cultural literacy and enhance theircomprehensive ability to use language. Therefore, English reading is an effective way to improvethe reading ability and level of English learners.

However, in the design of traditional reading teaching activities, the actual reading levelof students is ignored. Students’ reading remains on the surface, unable to carry out in-depthunderstanding. So it is difficult for students to achieve the goal of mastering knowledge andimproving the ability of core literacy. It is necessary to enhance the effectiveness of classroomteaching of English reading so that students can gradually move from sub-level reading to deeperlevel reading, to form their own profound experience of the text and achieve good teachingresults (Xia, 2015).Under such circumstances, all primary and secondary schools in China shouldtry their best to create various conditions to promote and guide teachers to teach English reading(Wang, 2017).

Harmer (1983) points out the Five Principles of Reading Teaching: Successful readingoften requires readers to carry out a series of active activities, including understanding theinformation the author wants to convey, understanding the logical relationship, asking whetherthey agree with the author’s point of view, and encouraging students to mobilize to their existingknowledge and actively predicting what they are reading to promote the smooth progress ofreading comprehension. To meet the needs of the development of the times and improve theeffectiveness of classroom teaching, it is necessary to cultivate students with comprehensivequalities. 


1.2 Purpose and significance of the research

As mentioned in the background, the English reading class is an essential part of improvingEnglish classroom teaching effectiveness. Many experts and scholars also believe that newteaching methods should be adopted to improve the teaching efficiency of English reading classto promote the improvement of students’ core English literacy and reading ability. Hence, thisthesis aims to apply the Problem-Based Learning model to English reading teaching in JuniorMiddle school to improve learners’ English reading interest and autonomous learning ability andimprove students’ English reading scores. Eventually cultivate students’ core competence ofEnglish discipline and promote the all-round development of students.
