摘要:本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,通过调查和访谈,作者了解了利用短片进行英语学习和教学的现状。大多数学生还没有意识到他们可以通过浏览短视频来学习英语。因为学生们还没有浏览有关英语学习的短视频,短视频应用程序通常不会向学生推荐短视频。

Huan Xiaojun (2018) and Liu Fuyao (2019) mentioned that shortvideos refers to the video content that plays on various new media platforms, is suitablefor viewing in mobile state and short-term leisure state, and is pushed by high frequency,ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes, with a duration of less than 5 minutes.And Yingjia Hu (2020) thinks that at present, as a new form of content dissemination,short videos have gradually changed the way people obtain information.

In the field of education, short videos are mainly defined from the content volumecontained in video resources. Yang Jiumin,Shao Mingjie and Huang Lei (2013) believethat short videos means that short videos is composed of many short fragments ofcourse knowledge controlled within 10 minutes. Ling Wei (2012) thinks that shortvideos is a video with limited content between 5-8 minutes. Lin Ping (2014) believesthat the concept of short videos covers a wide range. As a kind of teaching resource,only when it is used in practice can it reflect its educational research value.

2.2 Classification of Short Videos

Short videos are rich in content and have many classification standards. Zhang Jianguo (2020) pointed put short videos should be divided into five types, like: moviemicro video, TV series short videos, speech short videos, news short videos and musicTV series short videos. Based on her research, according to the source of short videosclassification, short videos can be divided into seven types. Just as the following: (1) TVseries, (2) English movies, (3) flash animation, (4) English speech, (5) music MV, (6)news, and (7) self-made explanation videos. And the TV series mainly includesAmerican TV series, English TV series, English documentaries and English cartoons.Teachers need to combine the analysis of students’ characteristics and teaching content,and choose the appropriate type of short videos to carry out teaching. Similarly, forstudents, students can choose the corresponding video materials to learn according totheir own needs.

The characteristics of short videos are mainly reflected in the form and content.From the perspective of morphological characteristics, short videos have threecharacteristics: fragment, performance and interaction. From the content characteristics,short videos have three characteristics: richness, practicality, entertainment and highfrequency.
