摘要:本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,通过现场教学、问卷分析、访谈和测试,本研究的主要结论如下。首先,当前的阅读教学主要是以教师为中心的,学生对发展阅读策略的意识不强,没有形成多次练习以有效地阅读策略的习惯。其次,ESA教学模式可以有效提高学生的阅读和学习兴趣。

本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,笔者认为ESA教学模式在初中英语阅读教学中的应用不仅改善了课堂教学气氛,提高了学生的学习兴趣,而且对提高学生的英语语用能力具有积极作用。

1.Introduction

1.1 Background of this Study

Nowadays,with economic,social,and cultural development,countries aroundthe world are becoming more and more interconnected and no country is immune tothe inevitable trend of communication development.English is an important tool forour economic and cultural exchange and a necessary skill for the future pillar of thenation.With the reform of the entrance examination for senior middle schools inrecent years,we have to think about how teachers should teach English effectively andwhat kind of English learning skills students should master.As an important part ofstudents'English learning and an important means of language input,English readingis an essential way for students to build their enthusiasm in learning English and toimprove their application abilities in English.

The English Curriculum for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)requiresstudents to be able to'understand the logical relationships between sentences in apassage',whereas in the English Curriculum for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)it becomes'understand explicit or implicit logical relationships in a discourse'.It alsorequires understanding the meaning conveyed by non-textual resources in multi-modaldiscourse.The new standard even requires an analysis of the author's point of view,anunderstanding of the author's attitude,and an understanding of the structure of thewhole discourse in order to improve overall logic.It is clear that the new standardsrequire a greater amount of word mastery and greater difficulty in reading,highlighting the fact that children are required to have a deeper understanding ofEnglish texts.It is expected that the difficulty of reading comprehension in Englishwill increase in the entrance exam for high school and that English reading part will bea major point of demerit.

1.2 Significance of this Study

1.2.1 Theoretical Significance

The use of ESA teaching model in the process of English reading teaching andthe exploration of English reading teaching model can expand the research data.Basedon input theory,construct theory and output theory,this study combines the ESAteaching model with junior high English reading teaching to explore the effectivenessof the ESA model in reading teaching and to test the effect of the ESA model on students'reading and learning,so that the research area and effectiveness of the ESAteaching model can be supplemented.

1.2.2 Practical Significance

This study attempts to use the ESA teaching model to inject new vitality into theinnovation of the junior high school English teaching model.As the ESA model meetsthe psycho-physiological characteristics of junior high school students and is differentfrom traditional teaching methods,this study attempts to adopt the ESA teachingmodel to improve the quality of junior high school English reading classes and toprovide more English teachers and the application of the ESA teaching model injunior high school English reading with feasible ideas and teaching practicereferences.
