摘要:本文侧重于非英语专业新生的跨文化交际能力的调查。通过分析国际刑事法院之间具有不同语言能力的非英语专业新生现状,探讨提高ICC 策略的因素。因此,本研究可以提供一些实用的方法,为改善国际刑事法院对非英语专业新生。

Chapter 1 Introduction

的交际能力Intcrcultural(ICC)在该领域的跨文化沟通,以及在外语教学研究是一个重要的研究课题。只有学习外国语言和相关的专业知识并不总是促进不同文化之间的有效沟通。因此,跨文化交际能力起着至关重要的作用,在外语教学的研究。此外,如何提高跨文化交际能力成为重大项目在外语大学英语课程教学要求于2007年7月发行的教科书.大学英语课程不仅是一门语言基础课程,但也是素质教育的过程中,以扩大知识,并帮助学生体会到世界各地的文化。本课程结合了工具性和个性。因此,设计大学英语课程时,应充分考虑文化素质培养和国际文化知识的教学考虑。
Intcrcultural Communication Competence (ICC) is a crucial research topic in the field ofintercultural communication, as well as in the research of foreign language teaching. Onlylearning a foreign language and the relevant expertise does not always contribute to effectivecommunication between different cultures. Therefore, Intercultural CommunicationCompetence plays a vital role in the research of foreign language teaching. In addition, howto improve Intercultural Communication Competence becomes the significant project in theforeign language teaching.According to College English Curriculum Requirements issued in July 2007, college Englishcurriculum is not only a language basic course, but also the course of quality Education tobroaden the knowledge and help the students appreciate the world cultures. This coursecombines instrumentality and personality. Therefore, to design the college English curriculumshould fully take the cultivation of cultural quality and the teaching of international culturalknowledge into consideration. The essential goal of college English curriculum is to cultivatethe Intercultural Communication Competence. Besides, the college English curriculum shouldhave three levels: general requirement, intermediate requirement and higher requirement.The study of intercultural communication theory and cultural teaching has been in full swingsince the 1980s. But the status quo about Intercultural Communication Competence amongnon-English major freshmen is worth studying. More importantly, in accordance with thelevel of Intercultural Communication Competence as well as the language proficiency, thestrategies to improve ICC should be different.The thesis focuses on the investigation of Intercultural Communication Competence ofnon-English major freshmen. Through analyzing the status quo of ICC among non-Englishmajor freshmen with different language proficiency, the thesis discusses the factors of ICCand the strategies to improve ICC. Therefore, this research can provide some practical waysfor the improvement of ICC of non-English major freshmen.The thesis is aimed at answering the following two questions:
( l)What is the current ICC level of Chinese non-Knglish major freshmen with differentlanguage proficiency?
(2)How does English language proficiency correlate to ICC scores under the context of ELTin China?


Chapter 2 Literature Review


2.1 Abroad Empirical Studies of ICC Theory and Scale
The keynote of intercultural communication study in America is empirical study. However,the characteristic of intercultural communication study abroad is that interculturalcommunication is widely used in the field of economy and trade, for example, theinternational economic activity. At the same time,intercultural adaptation and training alsobecome the focus. In 1979, Ruben did the research on ICC and intercultural adaptation topredict whether technicians and their spouses sent abroad could adapt to living overseas.
