ⅠIntroduction
 Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte and Anne Bronte, known as the famous women writers of 19thcentury in Britain, they wrote Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and Agnes Grey, they are the representative works of the time, where they made a deeper description of the women status, especially in Jane Eyre，charlotte described vividly the life of Jane who pursed freedom and love happiness, especially their searching equality with males. The contradiction between the rebellions and compliances has its rationality because it enlarges the connotation of Jane Eyre and has enlightenment to modern women. This thesis is mainly about their attitude towards feminism.
Women’s social status changed greatly during the Victorian period at the end of 19th century. We could see this from the background of the society and the literature of the time, and also find their spiritual chase in their works. The Bronte sisters had a sad end because they all died very young. And they all had a tragic love in their lives. So they wrote down their own feelings in their works. Just ten years after Queen Victoria’s accession to the throne in 1837, charlotte, the eldest Bronte sister, completed Jane Eyre. The following year, Emily completed Wuthering Heights and Anne completed Agnes Grey. It is useful to examine these works, as well as the lives of the Bronte sisters’ themselves, in order to gain a better understanding of their attitudes.
 
 II Social Background in the Times of the Bronte Sisters
 2.1 The Background of Society of the19th Century
 Bronte sisters lived in early 19th century. It was the time that great changes took place in Britain. British capitalism was mature, the contradiction between asset class and feudal has been changed. Workers fighting against the capitalist society became the main contradiction. It is necessary for us to know their creative background for getting a better understanding of their works.
 2.1.1 Politic
 At the end of 18th century, the European continent was influenced by the French Revolution. Britain as the leader of the opposition faction, fought against the French and the later Napoleon Empire. The development of British industry capitalism was accelerated because of the war, but the life of common people was even harder. In 1815, the war was over, British were the one of the winners, but the hard life of the people was not over. Early 19th century was the most suffering time for them. From 1809 to 1812, the labor movement was break out. From then on, the disturbance occurred from place to place. It was the utmost unrest period of British history from 1820s to 1840s.Mass movement frequently happened.
 Although the Bronte sisters were not involved in any movement, they were influenced by the emotion of the unrest society and also the spirit of the revolt. Shirley made a direct description of the luter movement ，that happened in York. The social contrast of Emily’s work-- Wuthering Heights, was based on this influence.
 When Britain was at the peak of its imperial power at the end of the 19th century, historians charted the country's rise to greatness over the preceding hundred years or so.
