摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本研究旨在了解高中英语写作在英语写作教学中的现状。学生都是二年级的学生。在为期12周的实验后,讨论了基于语篇分析的英语继续写作方法的效果。实验包括问卷调查、写作测试和访谈。

本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本研究结果表明,与对照班相比,实验班在基于语篇分析的连续写作教学法的指导下,英语写作成绩有了很大提高。学生们对这种写作模式感兴趣,并希望写作,而不是害怕英语写作。经过一段时间的培训,在老师的指导下,他们的写作成绩有了很大提高。

Chapter I Introduction

1.1 Research background

Writing is one of the dispensable skills, which is the basic skill in languagelearning. The traditional writing, which is written according to a particular topic, is akind of low-level thinking and often restricts students’ thinking. However, GeneralHigh School English Curriculum Standards (2017 version) requires improvement instudents’ thinking quality. So, continuation writing is a very effective way to makestudents think creatively based on the reading material. Nevertheless, a lot of studentshave problems like off-topic,illogical thinking and language mistakes during writing.Therefore, continuation writing based on discourse analysis is essential. It meets therequirements and expectations of cultivating language competence, raising culturalconsciousness, thinking quality, learning ability, and other core qualities of seniorhigh school students after receiving English education, which is the main contents ofthe English Curriculum Standard for Ordinary High Schools (2017 Edition). With allthese teaching objectives, the teacher can cultivate students’ listening, reading,viewing, speaking and writing abilities effectively. During the teaching process,teacher usually connects discourse contents with unit topics so that students cancomprehend what they have learned well. Discourse is fundamental for all types ofEnglish learning, so is the English writing. For many students, language, content andstructure still are the difficult parts to deal with.

1.2 Research Purposes

The continuation writing has been applied in the College Entrance Examinationsince 2016 and 2017 in Zhejiang province because of the profound effect onimproving students’ writing motivation and performance. However, some problemsexist among students when they have continuation writing, like inappropriatelanguage, improper content and unreasonable structure. Specifically, the plot of thecontinuation part is improper and illogical, the theme of the whole text is not clearenough and many language errors exist in the composition.

However, this new way of writing is not only an opportunity but also a challengefor teachers and students. As for teachers, they need to search for effective ways andteaching methods to solve the urgent problems mentioned above, thus arousingstudents’ motivation to write and improve their writing performance. Therefore, thisresearch will center on the language, content and structure to achieve the goal. That is because of the College Entrance Examination scoring standard, which evaluatesstudents’ writing level of continuation mainly in three ways: the content ofcontinuation, vocabulary and grammar as well as discourse structure.

2.1 Related concepts

2.1.1 Definition of the Continuation writing

Continuation writing is a type of writing which requires finishing the ending partaccording to the reading material.

The design of continuation writing needs to choose materials that are suitable forstudents’ level and have the ending parts removed.
