The methodological approach is important and particularly focussed on by supervisors. This part clearly reflects your understanding of your work and your intellectual input from the body of your knowledge about this project.

Your graduating project should include the following chapters:
 Introduction
 Literature review
 Methodology
 Results & analysis
 Conclusions and recommendations
II.2 INTRODUCTION

If your project is directly linked to a company in which you are doing your internship, a detailed presentation of your company and its problems are necessary. However, only write what is necessary for the reader to know – the rest can be put in an appendix and referred to in the main text.

Clearly identify a research problem/question that you are going to answer and explain how you are going answer it/them (i.e. the structure of the graduating project)

 

II.3 THE LITERATURE REVIEW

This part must present:

• What you currently know about your subject via Expert “literature review” papers.

Summarize current knowledge on the subject, taken from articles and books. Do not forget to mention the author or the authors, the year of writing, integrating this into the body of the graduating project text and mentioning the name in the bibliographical reference list. When quoting anybody else’s work, don’t forget to make it clear that this is not you writing.

II.4 METHODOLOGY

This part must present:

• The approaches and methodologies that will be used in your graduating project, with of course, the explanation of why you chose this methodology rather than another.

What is your plan of action? How did you decide to do what you are doing? What are the main stages? Why? Why this methodology? What are the alternative methodologies and why did you eliminate them?

Then describe what you have really done. The general style of the graduating project must be presented as a series of logical steps, even if that was not what really happened in the development stages.

The writing process of your graduating project allows and obliges you to explain why and how you proceeded in a logical fashion in order to enable the reader who has not participated in the writing, to understand what is happening. What problems did you encounter? How did you overcome them?

II.5 – RESULTS OBTAINED AND ANALYSIS

What happened?
You do not have to put all your results in this chapter, remember to use appendices. Present your data in an attractive, clear and logical manner; remember, graphs and diagrams are easier and quicker to understand. Link them back to your research questions. What do the results show?

II.6 – CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Analysis and argumentation

This part of the graduating project must enable the corrector and reader to judge your capacities and your ability to discuss and argue, your ability to re-evaluate your own ideas and the ideas expressed by others.
