  1.3 Layout of the Thesis论文概括
  The first chapter mainly introduces the background of the research, significanceof the research and the layout. The author has conducted a questionnaire survey on theclass she taught to learn the present situation of application of metacognitive strategyand autonomous learning then made an analysis followed by a semester-longmetacognitive strategy training which aims to improve the autonomous learning. Theauthor wants to make a research to know about three items: first, the metacognitivestrategy training contributes to improving the autonomous learning or not; second,after a series of metacognitive strategy training designed by the author, students'application of metacognitive strategy can be better; third, in the daily teaching, how tohelp the students acquire the metacognitive knowledge and cultivate autonomouslearning.The author will first make a questionnaire about the autonomous learningsituation of one class of senior one which the author taught. Then the author will adoptmany approaches to conduct the meta-cognitive strategy training for one semester. Themain approaches include:First, document methods; consult information related to literature at home and abroad,including psychology, pedagogy and relevant references.Second, Survey method; through the questionnaire the author aims to know about thepresent situation of the students’ autonomous learning and their learning requirements,as well as their attitude towards English autonomous learning.Third, interview; through the interview by teachers and students from time to time, theauthor hopes to know the understanding and applying of metacognitive strategies bythe students and assist them to consciously use metacognitive strategies in their ownautonomous learning of English.The second chapter is about the literature review and present study situation ofmetacognitive strategy and autonomous learning. Metacognitive strategy is that in thewhole process of cognitive activities, the learners consider the ongoing activity as theobject of cognition, and keep active, conscious monitoring and regulating.Autonomous learning can be defined from two aspects. The one is that the learningcontent, learning method, learning arrangements and the evaluation are all up to thestudents themselves; the other is that the students can guide, monitor, regulate theirown learning. Since 1970s, there have been a large number of researches ofmetacognitive strategy and autonomous learning home and abroad. The effects of theseresearches involve various aspects, however there are some areas need to be furtherexplored, such as how to effectively integrate the metacognitive strategy training intodaily teaching ect..In the third chapter, the author has made a questionnaire survey to the students ofclass 16 senior grade one to know their application of metacognitvie strategy andautonomous learning situation in English learning, which involves learning motivation,attitude, planning, self-monitoring, self-assessing and self-adjusting. An oral interviewis after the questionnaire survey.
