English writing is also a fundamental skill which can represent the ability of learners’  practical  application  of  language  knowledge.  The  level  of  English  writing ability can truly represent and show the learners’ overall English proficiency. English writing  needs  learners  to  equip  with  enough  language  knowledge  such  as  basic English vocabulary and moderate grammar. In the process of English writing, learners can  put  what  they  have  learned  into  reality  in  the  form  of  English  passages  or compositions.  At  the  same  time,  learners  can  find  out  their  weaknesses  and consolidate their English knowledge.

1.2   The Purpose of the Study
 This  study  is  on  the  basis  of  the  previous  studies  and  researches.  The  author uses two main research methods, which are qualitative and quantitative methods. The thesis  is  composed  of  two  research  instruments:  questionnaire  and  interview.  There are  two  purposes  of  this  study.  Firstly,  this  study  is  aimed  to  investigate  the  general situation  of  high  school  students’  English  writing  anxiety.  Secondly,  this  study  is expected  to  find  out  the  causes  of  English  writing  anxiety  in  the  process  of  English writing.Based on the findings and the analysis of the collected data, the author can make some  suggestions  for  high  school  students  and  English  teachers.  To  high  school students,  the  suggestions  are  aimed  to  help  them  to  reduce  their  English  writing anxiety and upgrade their English writing ability. Furthermore, the author hopes these suggestions can help high school students have a good command of English writing.To high school English teachers, the suggestions can help them find a more effective method  to  make  English  writing  class  more  interesting.  With  the  help  of  the  given suggestions,  English  teachers  can  help  high  school  students  keep  a  correct  attitude towards English writing anxiety and hold a positive attitude to English writing.
