4.1 Results of the Characteristics of English ClassroomQuestioning

The results of the classroom observation were analyzed from the followingaspects:a)the classifications of classroom questioning,b)the questioning andanswering of classroom questioning,c)the strategies of classroom questioning,d)thefeedback of classroom questioning,e)the wait-time of classroom questioning.

4.1.1 The Classifications of English Classroom Questioning

The displayed questions generally restrict students’thinking,while the referencequestions are beneficial to students’language training and give students morediscourse opportunities.The author transcribed observation recordings into materials,and the classifications of classroom questioning of 4 teachers are statisticallyanalyzed.

Table 4-1 presents the descriptive statistical results of the classification ofEnglish classroom questioning in English class

5.1 Major Findings

The present study aimed at exploring the English teachers’classroomquestioning on observing four teachers at Urumqi No.11 Middle School.First,thecharacteristics of classroom questioning in English class in terms of classification,questioning and answering,strategy,feedback and wait-time were explored byclassroom observation.Then,the students’expectation of classroom questioning wereinvestigated.Finally,the teachers’self-cognition of the classroom questioning wereexplored by the interview.The major findings were summarized as follows:

First of all,classroom observation aimed to observing the characteristics ofclassroom questioning according to The Observation Scale of English ClassroomQuestioning.It indicated that the reference questions were mostly adopted by teachersin English class and the teachers preferred to choose the whole class and randomlyselect students to answer.Then,the teachers usually used the strategy of repetitionand questioning.Additionally,English teachers frequently provided positive feedbackto students.and gave students 1-3 seconds to think the questioning.However,thedifferences in classi论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
