摘要:本文是一篇高中英语论文,根据客观和主观情况,本文的局限性可以概括如下。首先,本文的研究对象是乌鲁木齐市一所高中的302名学生。然而,样本规模相对较小,不能充分反映新疆所有高中的总体情况。其次,毫无疑问,教师在课堂中扮演着重要角色。本研究只关注学生对英语课堂环境的感知,而没有考虑英语教师对课堂环境的认知。

researchers have done lots of research on English autonomous learning abilitythat mainly centers at the influencing factors of the cultivation of autonomous learning abilityand most of them are paid more attention to subjective factors and less involved objective factors.The study of classroom environment factors in this paper might provide a different perspectivefor the goal of developing English autonomous learning ability in class.

Chapter Two Literature Review

2.1 Key Concepts

2.1.1 Autonomous Learning Ability

2.1.1.1 Definitions of Autonomous Learning Ability

Autonomous learning that is also called learner autonomy abroad has become an importanttopic and aroused fierce discussion since it has been introduced into the field of educationalteaching.Researchers both at home and abroad have made several kinds of research in this fieldand different researchers have different definitions about this concept.For they discussed studiesof autonomous learning ability from different views.

From the perspective of the process of autonomous learning,students’autonomous learningability should be reflected in all aspects of the learning process.

Holec(1981:3)introduced the notion of autonomous learning into foreign language learningin the 1980s and defined it as the ability of self-management which means learners can be incharge of their learning in the process of learning,including setting a definite goal,self-monitoring,self-evaluation and other factors.After that,this idea began to attractwidespread attention.

Little(1991)introduced this concept by defining the meaning of autonomy,he pointed outthat autonomy means that people can accomplish tasks independently in the face of tasks,canflexibly face various special circumstances to complete tasks,and can apply what they havelearned to other situations.

2.2 Theoretical Basis

In this part,the author will introduce the theoretical basis of this thesis and indicate therelationship between the two theories and the paper as follows.

2.2.1 Lewin’s Field Theory

The Field Theory put forward by the famous German psychologist Lewin is a dynamicmodel of the psychological field.He drew lessons from the concept of'Field'in physics toexplain the behavior of individuals and thought that the interaction between human inner needsand surrounding environment determines human psychology and behavior.He proposed theequation B=f(P,E),B represents human behavior,P represents individual,E represents thepersonal environment.This theory shows the importance of the environment to human behavior.

2.2.2 Murray’s Need-Press Model

Based on Lewin’s Field Theory,Murray put forward the need-press model.He believed thatthe formation of individual behavior was the result of the interaction between internal andexternal factors.The internal factor is regarded as the individual's own'demand',whichcontains the individual's motivation which means the individual’s behavior is oriented.Theexternal factor is the'pressure'of the environment,which can be positive or negative.It also canpromote or hinder people's internal needs for its self-development.Individuals respond todifferent environmental pressures according to their own needs.
