摘要:本文是一篇英语语言学论文题目,本研究从超语视角出发,选取中国社交媒体作为研究平台,探究在数字化交流中超语策略的影响。围绕该研究主题,主要分为三个研究问题,即超语策略的类型、其使用效果及其动机。

本文是一篇英语语言学论文题目,本研究采用了混合研究范式,历时六个月,结合超语视角下时刻分析的方法,通过问卷调查、半结构化采访以及收集微博微信帖子的方式获取相关问卷共342份,相关录音共176分钟,相关语料共462条。随后,使用Nvivo12和问卷星对于获得的数据进行进一步的归纳和分析。

Chapter One INTRODUCTION

1.1 Research Background

In the context of deepening globalization and the development of Information Technology, interpersonal communication under different social, economic, political, and cultural backgrounds becomes increasingly close (DeVito, 2019), resulting in constant updates of people's communicative strategies. Translanguaging has gradually influenced human society and changed their daily strategies of communication (Garcia & Wei, 2014).

Originating from the Welsh Revival movement, it was called 'Trawsieithu' to refer to a form of bilingual pedagogical practice, which was later translated into 'Translanguaging' by Baker (2010), who enriched the definition. With the advancement of technology and globalization, it has been applied to pedagogy, social interaction, multi-modal communication, linguistic landscape, visual arts, and media discourse (Li, 2018), which has gone beyond specific linguistic communities, such as social networking sites, showing the multiple language practices of people online (Juffermans et al., 2014) and the ability to shuttle between linguistic resources (Canagarajah, 2011). 

According to Li et al. (2023), the term 'trans-' in 'translanguaging' can be regarded as 'transcending' and 'integrating,' which emphasizes the ability of language users to transcend the boundary of symbols and the ability to integrate the use of multiple symbols. The 'languaging' in 'translanguaging' originally mainly referred to language and its variants (dialects), and now it has developed to a variety of things with the function of information transmission, including charts, videos, body language, all kinds of multi-modal symbols outside the linguistic box, and even communication scenes, etc. For example, WeChat is an integrated application of multi-modal communication, such as text, numbers, letters, and emojis. In line with Li (2018), Li et al. (2023) admitted that the concept of translanguaging originated from language education, but its scope has far exceeded language education and entered many fields of daily life, so today's linguistic performance can be called the 'translanguaging era.'

1.2 Significance of Research

Firstly, translanguaging is a hot topic in the field of applied linguistics, which has caused many scholars to study it (Creese & Blackledge, 2015; Vogel & Garcia, 2017; Conteh, 2018; Ren & Guo, 2022; Zhang & Ren, 2022). In recent years, a series of translanguaging studies on China have also begun to emerge. Li et al. (2023)  held that human beings have entered the era of translanguaging. They stated that people must consider two problems in this era. One is how to consciously use translanguaging and fully play its function in language life, such as textbook compilation, interpretation tour guide, language landscape, film and television network media, education and teaching, social speech, etc. The other one is cultivating citizens' translanguaging competence, making them adapt to translanguaging life, and constantly innovating the translanguaging life.
