(Hurrell, Andrew and Ngaire Woods, 1995:447).

The term 'Globalization' is often invoked to describe the process of increasing interdependence and global enmeshment which occurs as money, people, images, values and ideas flow even more swiftly and smoothly across national boundaries. It is assumed to be a process driven by technology advance which will lead to a more and more homogenous and interconnected world.' (Hurrell, Andrew and Ngaire Woods, 1995:447).

Globalization is a wider term because due to its scope and diversity it may mean different to different people. Experts have drawn a line between Economic Globalization and Cultural Globalization, although both of them are so interlinked that a complete separation is impossible to achieve. In this assignment, more discussion is related to Economic Globalization.

According to Joshi (2009) 'Economic globalization refers to increasing economic interdependence of national economies across the world through a rapid increase in cross-border movement of goods, service, technology and capital.

The history of globalization springs from the industrial revolution of the 19th century when Britain became the primary global and economic superpower. This was due to its improved technology in manufacturing, communications and adept administration whereas the present world experiences the power of globalisation rapidly increased after World War 2 due to the sheer speed of information technology which has altered the course of history ,where companies manage production and their service in a worldwide scenario. Now the American companies have replaced that age of old imperialism and became the harbinger of ' Globalisation' . Ford, Coca Cola, McDonald and Microsoft Corporation are now the order of the day.

Because globalisation means that an individual firm doesn't only compete on a national level but it also tries to sell its products or services on an international level to a single global market. Globalisation brings numerous benefits Along with that it. For example it allows the opportunity to spread the best of the best ideas across the globe without any resistance. For example. new and improved AIDS medicine and soil fertilizers. Also globalisation helps not only the customers and entrepreneurs but also numerous governments. For example if a multinational company opens its industry or office in a country it provides the opportunity for employment for the local people.

According to the famous Japanese business and corporate strategist Kenichi Ohmae (as cited in Cherunilum,2008), there are five stages that a firm needs to pass though in order to become a global corporation. The first stage of globalisation
