1.1 Research Background

Understandingnews has become an indispensable part in our daily life. Obviously, the E-C newstranslation is of great importance now.

1.2 Current Study

However, because of the languagebarriers, cultural barriers and some other differences, E-C news translation is far froman easy job. As far as the author knows, there are few books on that topic. Most of themfocus on the news style, writing techniques, and the analysis of news translationmistakes. Finding an appropriate theory to guide the E-C news translation is extremelysignificant. As a matter of fact, people try to use different translation theories to achievethe goal but feel difficult to make an agreement. Skopos Theory, one of the populartheories of translation, has received relatively fruitful achievements. In this paper, due to the limited time and space, the author only finds some recent M.A papers that makeresearches on the E-C news translation under the Skopos Theory.
