The Deliverables and Competencies for Project Sequence
1) Use temple, name your assignment properly (运用模版,文件命名要规范);

5) Keep the competencies for each deliverable in mind while doing homework, because your coach evaluates your assignments according to them. 注意阅读一下每个deliverable相应的competencies。
6) Three papers for project 1-1 should be three separate word documents; Remember to submit them together in wiki.
Competencies for Project Sequence 1-1:
1.1 Develop effective written communications that demonstrate clarity in ideas, reasoning, and content.

The document has a clear purpose and a central idea that is explicitly stated and sufficiently developed.1.1.3. Arguments, conclusions or recommendations are clearly expressed.1.1.4. Conclusions and recommendations are supported with specific examples, logical reasoning, and evidence from multiple credible sources, which are cited.
1.2 Develop effective written communications that demonstrate appropriate design, organization, and coherence.
1.2.1. The format of the document (e.g., report, letter, memo) is appropriate and matches its purpose.1.2.2. The document contains an opening that clarifies its purpose, central ideas, and any necessary background.1.2.3. Material is organized logically.1.2.4. Each paragraph is coherent, has a strong lead sentence, contains one main idea, and is clearly linked to the next paragraph.1.2.5. Visual cues (e.g., headings, bullets, indentation, spacing, fonts) are used to emphasize or organize key points. 1.2.6. When appropriate, charts, photographs, and similar devices are used to support the message.1.2.7. The document contains a strong conclusion or summary.
1.3 Prepare effective written communication that demonstrates sentence clarity, conciseness and structure.
1.3.1. Sentence structure enhances the clarity of the document.1.3.2. Sentences flow smoothly and are varied in length and structure.1.3.3. The writer expresses ideas directly and avoids unnecessary use of the passive voice. 1.3.4. Sentences are concise.1.3.5. The tone of the document is professional.
1.4 Prepare effective written communications with appropriate grammar, usage and mechanics.
1.4.1. Grammar, punctuation, capitalization, usage, and spelling are correct.1.4.2. Vocabulary is appropriate given the audience; jargon, acronyms or specialized terms are avoided or explained.1.4.3. Word choice is varied; synonyms are used to avoid excessive repetition of words or terms.1.4.4. When needed, the words and ideas of others are properly referenced or cited.
