Basic Information of C&O Group
C&O Pharmaceutical Technology (Holdings) Limited is formed in People’s Republic of China in 1997, incorporating with other two state-owned enterprises. And it aims to be a group that engages in the pharmaceutical research, manufacturing, distributing and sale of their own brand as well as third party brands. The company was listed on the Main-board of Singapore Exchange in 2005. And now it has more than 2,000 distributors and 300,000 clinics, pharmacies and hospitals all cross China.
Company Aim
With the development for years, the C&O Group has developed to be a fully functional listed company with integrated structure. It aims to service the entire value chain in the pharmaceutical industry and provide one-stop services for other pharmaceutical companies in China and all over the rest of the world. The services cover the research, manufacturing and distribution.

After the establishment of the company in 1997, C&O successfully operated some acquisitions. Some major acquisitions became the main parts in current company structure afterwards. In 2001, the company successfully acquired all the equity interest from Nanjing Changao, which also got the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification from the SGDA. After becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of C & O Group, Changao Research and Development following became the R&D department in C&O Group. In 2006, C&O carried out two major acquisitions, the whole acquisition of Shenzhen Liancheng Medicine Company Limited, and 69.98% acquisition of Shanghai Sun-sail Pharmaceutical Science & Technology Co., Ltd. In the following two years, Nanjing Xinaokang Pharmaceutical Limited became a wholly owned subsidiary of C&O Group.
To meet the company aims, and according to the functional difference, the company structure is classified into three departments, research & development, manufacturing and Marketing & distribution respectively.
Research & Development
In the Research and Development department, it covers the chemical synthesis, pharmaceutical analysis, manufacturing techniques, clinical research and product registration, as well as drug formulation and preparation methods.
To provide the qualified services as above, the Research and Development department emploies more than 80 in-house researchers who expertizes in different research areas. They are allocated in two research and development centers in Nanjing and Shanghai respectively. Besides, it keeps long term relationships with renowned univeristies, research institution and company to exploit the research and development capability.
Except for the research on C&O research and development department, it also provides research outsouring service for other pharmaceutical companies through the contract research organisation (CRO).
Manufacturing
The manufacturing is GMP certifitied to apply 13 production process, which can manufature different products for owned brand and contract manufacture organisation (CMO) brand.
