Introduction
   
 Different nation has different culture background. It is extremely different that the culture between western countries and Chinese. The main reason that Chinese students can not catch the total idea of English article is that they do not yet understand the English culture background. As all we know, every Chinese student has spent many years to learn English, but most of them find that they can not catch much of the English knowledge. Especially in English reading, students catch only a little information after finishing read a passage or article. Why? Regularly students have some uncorrect methods to understand a passage. First, when students read a paper, they always catch the idea of the author in Chinese logical thought. The word “individualism” appeared many times in the western newspapers, magazine and other critical essays. Generally thinking, most Chinese students regard this word as a negative one, because in Chinese society, people do not support anyone who wants to be an individualist, but they advocate the communism in any area of work. On the contrary, westerners support people to live independently and do whatever they like to do. Especially, in America, governments advocate anybody to do his business individually. So the individualism is very popular in western countries. But in reality, the team work in America is also popular in all walks of life. Therefore, when we read the word “individualism” in the English passage, we could not be in Chinese thinking to judge its different philosophies. We should remember, different nation has different lives of philosophy. Second, in some field, students can not exact   to understand the very meanings of some words and precise to understand the very meanings of some phrases or sentences. Western people like expressing their ideas and visions in some slang and idioms, and these expressions we commonly can not catch what the meanings are. For example, the expression “I was not born yesterday”, we could not make sense of it in its external words. Usually, if you attempt to coax some grown-up children at unreasonable manners, they probably give you a sentence “ I was not born yesterday”. Its real meaning should be that he or she was not a child at the age 4 or 5, then anyone can not persuade him or her to do anything which does not benefit for them.
