摘要:本文是一篇英语阅读论文,本论文在语篇分析方法的指导下,作者采用问卷、测试和访谈的方法对这两个研究问题进行了验证。从结果和分析中,作者得出了对学生语篇意识和阅读成绩的影响。

CHAPTER FIVE CONCLUSION

5.1 Major Findings of the Research

With the guidance of the discourse analysis approach,the author used thequestionnaire,tests and interview to do the research to verify the two researchquestions.From the results and analysis,the author got the findings about the effecton the students’discourse awareness and reading performance.

5.1.1 The effect on the students’discourse awareness

According to the comparison results of the pre-questionnaire,thepost-questionnaire and the content analysis of the interview,the application ofdiscourse analysis theory has improved students’discourse awareness,mainly fromthe aspects of prediction and recognizing references.Students can use skimming andscanning to look for certain information according to discourse analysis.They canalso guess words’meanings and predict the content by analyzing the context orbackground information of a discourse.

Reading is a process,in which students get the meanings from the discourseand there is a kind of interaction between the reader and the writer.Also,studentsare required to use different reading strategies to achieve various reading purposes.In the experimental class,the English teacher instructed students to read the textfrom macro and micro aspects of reading strategies.From the perspective of themicro level,reading strategies can include cohesive and coherent devices of thediscourse.However,from the perspective of the macro level,reading strategies paymore attention to the analysis of genre types as well as textual patterns.Students can get the main idea of the discourse,understand the writing purpose of the discourse.The students in experimental class gradually notice cohesion and coherence of thediscourse with the guidance of discourse analysis approach.And the students in theexperimental class are able to consciously guess the meaning of new wordsaccording to the context,and get the structure of the whole text.Besides,after theapplication of discourse analysis approach,students read the discourse effectivelyand try using different reading strategies to gain specific information in thediscourse.
