本文是一篇英语阅读论文,本论文在语篇分析方法的指导下,学生的阅读成绩有了明显的提高。根据两次测试的结果,可以看出,前测中EC和CC的阅读成绩没有显著差异。然而,在后测中,实验结果表明,语篇分析法在高中英语阅读教学中的应用取得了很好的效果。

CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION

1.1 Research Background

English plays a significant part in getting cultural,scientific and technicalknowledge.Reading is not only an important element to master a language,but alsoa main tool to obtain information in English teaching.Students obtain intelligibleinformation,effective knowledge points and abundant vocabulary through reading.English as a language subject,emphasizes listening,speaking,reading and writing,among which reading is of great importance.Developing good reading habits andmastering reading skills help students form the correct English thinking.AfterEnglish reading,the English language materials are changed into the informationwhich is stored in the students’brain,and students attempt the conversion as well ascomprehensive usage of basic sentence types.Reading teaching is vital to students’English language acquisition and English language expression ability.Therefore,inthe daily English teaching,teachers should constantly enlighten students about theimportance of improving reading skills.

The English Curriculum Standards for General High School(The 2020revision version)clearly states that language knowledge items in the English coursecontent integrated by six elements contain discourse knowledge.It requires studentsto master the writing purpose,structure characteristics,language characteristics,titlecharacteristics,explicit cohesion and the logical relationship in the discourse.Suchrequirements of curriculum content put forward new questions in teachers’teachingmethods and pose new challenges to the traditional teaching methods.Therefore,itis necessary to construct the teaching methods consistent with the requirements of curriculum content to complete teaching tasks and to achieve teaching objectives.Inaddition,highlighting and paying attention to discourse has become a significantprinciple in the proposition of the English college entrance examination.In addition,one of the remarkable characteristics of the college entrance examination in recentyears is to emphasize the comprehensive knowledge of language based on thediscourse and combined with specific context.English Examination Outline ofNational Higher Education Entrance Examination requires high school students cangrasp the theme and the context of reading discourse.It requires students tounderstand the background and the writing intention of the article,and makereasonable speculation of the plot development according to the context andcohesion.From the above requirements,it can be seen that English reading in seniorhigh school mainly examines the students’ability of discourse analysis and theability of comprehensive language application.If the students want to improve theirreading ability,it is not sufficient for them to recite vocabulary,grammar andcommon collocation.They should also grasp the discourse on the whole and have adeep understanding of the discourse context,so as to improve students’Englishreading abilities effectively.

1.2 Research Objective
