; based  on  context  in  legal translation,  the  translation  strategies  or  methods  used  in  applying  the  strategy  of  contextual adaptation and the focus of translation in different contexts.

Firstly, I will summarize some key points of legal translation based on the RATA. Just as is  explained  in  Chapter  Three,  according  to  RATA,  the  translators  should  infer  the communication  intention  of  the  writer  and  make  it  ostensive  for  target  readers.  This theoretical  framework  holds  that  the  translated  text  and  its  source  text  are  considered  to  be interpretive  resemblance  rather  than  equivalence.  The  suggestion  for  translators  guided  by RATA  is  that  they  should  seek  dynamic  rather  than  literal  equivalence.  The  reasonability exists  in the  fact that expectant acceptance of target readers is  not the same with that of the   readers  of  the  source  text.  It  means  that  the  contextual  effect  contained  in  the  linguistic features  can  hardly  get the  effect of  the  same  extent  between  the original  readers  and  target readers although the  intention of the writer can  be  fully understood by the translator. So the optimal  relevance  between  the  writer  and  the  source-text  readers  is  different  from  that between  the  writer  and  the  target  readers.  However,  it  is  inevitable  for  translators  to  make linguistic choices for the purpose of leaving target readers the most contextual effect and the least processing effort, which is still for optimal relevance.

Secondly,  to  seek  optimal  relevance,  the  translators  choose  to  use  different  strategies. There are many reasons for the making linguistic choices in legal translation. Legal English, has  high  regard  for  accuracy,  strictness,  standard,  but  due  to  the  heterogenic  properties  of different  languages  and  cultures,  when  we  translate  the  source  language  into  the  target language, we cannot always find similar or equal expressions. Just as is explained in Chapter Four, it suggests that when dealing with linguistic phenomena in legal texts, a translator may make possible changes according to the context. In legal translation, the choice of the best, or the most appropriate, or the most effective language will always depend on context, including linguistic and non-linguistic contexts. It is context that enables us to resolve ambiguity of the text.
