Under the guidance of Newmark’s communicative translation theory, the translator has accumulated some experience in English translation of ICT texts. This section summarizes some major findings and reflections on the translation project. 

Firstly, a thorough understanding of the original text is the primary condition for translation practice. On this basis, the translator needs to analyze the linguistic characteristics of the text and choose the appropriate translation theory as the guide. ICT text is a typical informative text with concise language, strong logic, compact and coherent writing and a large amount of information. Given the above characteristics, the translator needs to adopt communicative translation strategy and consider the reading habits and needs of the target readers.

Secondly, different methods and techniques should be used flexibly according to the original text. During translation, the translator needs to accurately present the specific lexical connotation of the original text through a variety of translation skills, such as zero translation and transliteration. In the face of complex sentences, the translator needs to adjust the sentence order. At the same time, we should split long sentences into short Chinese sentences according to Chinese habits, which is conducive to readers’ understanding. In order to increase the logic and coherence of the text, the translator can use repetition and add conjunctions.
