1 Introduction
1.1 Background
Since “Open-door” policy implemented in 1978 by Deng Xiaoping, China has pasted through a dramatically development, in both the society sector and economic sector. Before this, China is a closed land, keeping its 5000 years old traditions as a routine. Due to the impact of globalization, modern China becomes one part of the “global village”, especially after China joined in the WTO economic system (Fung, Pei & Zhang, 2006). It also attempts to be an international state other than a closed one (Fung, Pei & Zhang, 2006). Therefore, the traditional culture of China had started to change as the consequences of globalization. The changing of values also leads to business management challenge for mangers in China (Jaw, Ling, Wang & Chang, 2007). The difficulties for these managers of conducting their management methods is which type of culture or value should be considered as the basic element for managing organizations in China. Started by Xinhua News Report, media in China began to discuss the power of values in enterprise management. By citing the example of Microsoft, the value of enterprise is treated as an important aspect to determine the growth of enterprises (Xinhua News, 2008). Considering the great influence that culture will bring to management ideology of running organizations, it is necessary to identify the features of current Chinese cultures as well as their influences to the management of organizations in China.
