RESEARCH OF HEBEI UNICOM’S strategy OF COUNTRYSIDE INFORMATIONLIZATION

ABSTRACT

To realize countryside informationlization is one of the most important aspects of economic development and social informationlization.  In general, countryside informationlization means to apply information technology on people’s life in the rural area in all aspects. Depending on the information related to rural life, it speeds up the process of development of the area. Since the fast development of economy and huge growth on telecommunication market, the market of fixed telephone and mobile phone in the city area is about to full. However, the vast market in the rural area is still to be explored which makes the new growth point for Unicom. Based on that, this research firstly defines the meaning of what is countryside informationlization and to conclude the current situation and past theory or research. Secondly, it analyzed how informationlization can affect countryside economy, modernization, industrialization and urbanization. Moreover, it researched what is the relationship between satisfaction degree of countryside residents and informationlization degree. After that, the history of China’s telecommunication industry is to be researched and the current situation of China Unicom’s Hebei branch is to be analyzed. Finally, a questionnaire was designed to research Hebei’s telecommunication market in the rural area and to what degree that the area is informationalized. The author will make some suggestion on what is the strategy of Hebei Unicom’s development. 

Main conclusion:

(1) Countryside information technology has some special features including very strong penetration, high multiplication effect which makes a huge affect on agriculture economy structure’s evolution and development. It makes modernization, industrialization, urbanization and economic growth of the China’s agriculture more intensive. This research proved that people’s life condition and satisfaction degree has some relationship to the degree of informationlizaiton development. Traditional, popular and front edge information products have all made positive effect on countryside residents’ life condition and satisfaction degree.
(2) China’s telecommunication industry’s main features: The capacity of the telecommunication network is at leading position in the world; Telecommunication business structure is diversified; This industry became more and more competitive.
