1 Introduction 

1.1 Background of the Research
With  the  development  of  economy  and  society,  communication  is  becoming  more  and more frequent between China and other countries. English is made as an universal language in the world, it is an important tool for scientific and culture exchange, academic communication and international affairs communication as well. In China, English is a major subject in junior high  schools.  Acquisition  of  English  vocabulary  is  the  prerequisite  to  learn  English  for students, because phonetics, vocabulary and grammar are three most important factors in the construction of language, and among which vocabulary is the most important factor. However, there  are  many  problems  in  English  vocabulary  teaching  in  rural  junior  high  schools. Specifically, they include these following aspects: According  to  the  New  Curriculum  Requirements  on  English  of  junior  high  school, students  should  learn  to  use  at  least  1500  words  and  200  phrases  in  the  junior  high  school. However,  it  is  a  severe  challenge  for  the  students  and  English  teachers  in  rural  junior  high schools.  Because  there  are  a  number  of  non-English  major  teachers  in  rural  junior  high schools, they did not have systematic theoretical and practical knowledge of English teaching approach  and  they  teach  English  by  their  only  own  experience  in  daily  English  teaching.  It found that students' acquisition of English words is the main limited factor in the examination or  the  usual  class  teaching  activities  in  rural  junior  high  school.  New  English  Curriculum standard  also  asks  teachers  to  pay  more  attention  to  the  cultivation  of  students'  diathesis, emotion,  attitude  and  values,  which  requires  teachers  and  students  must  go  out  of  the traditional English teaching mode to explore the new English teaching mode.

1.2 Significance of the Research
