本文是一篇英语论文格式,本研究选取了一家北欧食品公司和一家中国本土食品公司的研发部门,旨在发现两家公司在语言景观上的差异以及背后的创新文化差异。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Research Background

The development of any corporation needs continuous innovation,and the innovation isone core competitiveness for any corporation.Long-term economic growth can only beachieved or realized by technological progress(Solow,1956).In another word,technologicalinnovation and R&D progress is very important for economic growth.For most corporationsthat R&D has two major functions(Cohen&Levinthal,1989).One function is to directlycreate or produce innovative inventions or develop new products(innovation effect).Anotherfunction is to improve the absorption and imitation ability of corporations(learning effect).

What kind of factors can affect the innovation of corporations?The managementdepartment of the corporation needs to find out the main factors that can affect employee’screativity and positive attitude.It is a tough job to create a favorable environment that canhave a positive impact on improving innovation.Culture was an important factor that canaffect society,politics,and economy(Huntington&Harrison,2001).Corporate culture wasimportant significance for the development of corporations(Sadri&Lees,2001).Corporateculture will affect the success or failure of corporations.A positive corporate culture will havea positive effect on the development of corporations.Every corporation has its own culture.The linguistic landscape(henceforth LL)of corporations is also some forms of the corporateculture.The LL can reflect the profound meaning and the values of the corporate culture.These will help to create a good cultural environment which can help corporate innovation.

1.2 Theoretical Significance

LL is a spatial phenomenon of social language.In recent years,the study of LL hasslowly developed into a new hot spot in the field of sociolinguistics at home and abroad.Thedevelopment of foreign LL is relatively early,so the research theories and methods of LL arerelatively rich and diverse.The study of LL in China started relatively late.At present,most ofthe research on LL in China is focused on the macro-domain LL in the public domain,whilethe research on LL in the micro-domain is still relatively limited and scarce.Yin has doneresearch on the LL of manufacturing corporations in the Yangtze River Delta(Yin,2021).

In order to enrich the research of corporate LL,this study researches LL of corporate R&D departments from the perspective of micro-domain,and analyzes the LL rules of R&Ddepartments by the three-dimensional spatial theory(Trumper-Hecht,2010).This studyresearches relation between the micro-LL and the corporate culture in the R&D departmentof the corporation.This will not only enrich the study of the LL but also expand the paths andways of the research on the construction of corporate culture.
