笔者在翻译过程中，一些重要的发现积累了下来以下：第一强模因和弱模因都包含在语言中，但只有强模因才能被人们广泛使用并不断复制和传播。相反，随着时间的推移，一些语言模因不再被人们使用，并逐渐消失。这些语言模因是弱模因或死模因。从基因型和表型的角度，我用符合中国读者兴趣的强模因来代替一些平淡的翻译表达，如网络用语、习语等，加入这些模因后，使译文富有现代感和文学性。

Chapter OneIntroduction

1.1 Research Background

With the rapid development of globalization, the mutual translation of Chinese andEnglish literary works has gradually developed, and more and more studies have beenmade in the translation of English works. However, most of the objects of previoustranslation studies are limited to the translation of traditional foreign works and NobelPrize winning works, while little attention has been paid to the translation and researchof British contemporary literature and best-selling works, which can not meet thereading needs of more and more Chinese readers .

I selected Beneath a Burning sky from Jenny Ashcroft as the my report oftranslation. This is a novel about secret, betrayal and love. It is a story happened onAlexandria, an Egyptian colony ruled by England in the 19th century, with a lot ofcharacters and plots. Relying on the background of social contradictions between theBritish ruling class and the local people, the story reveals the mysterious life path ofOlivia through a kidnapping.

The author, Jenny Ashcroft, lives in Brighton with her husband and two children.Before that, she lived and worked in Australia and Asia for many years, which made herhave a lasting passion for the story of distant countries. She has a history degree and hasalways been fascinated by history, especially the extraordinary events that can changethe way ordinary people live. Her first book, Beneath a Burning sky, was loved byreaders as soon as it was published. The author's breathtaking and memorable storytelling made it quickly sell well in British novels, and Jenny Ashcroft became the mostpopular author in 2016. This novel combines the intense, fast-paced mystery andheartbreaking romance, and has a very high literary value.

1.2 Research Purpose

In terms of theory, this report explained how the translator used the theory oftranslation memes to explore and develop translation strategies from the three linguisticlevels of syntax, semantics and pragmatics; in terms of practice, the translator tried toexplore and solve the translation problems encountered in this translation practice, toimprove the awareness of ideological communication in the process of translation, andto enrich the theoretical research and practical level of novel translation. At the sametime, this translation report aimed to make translation memes theory and productionstrategies can be understood and applied by more translators during translation.

The methods of observation and literature research were adopted to fully observethe reading interests of the target language readers, and horizontal research andcomparison of related references were conducted. In this report, typical translationexamples were selected to prove the feasibility of Chesterman's classified productiontranslation strategies in English-Chinese translation, so as to provide a supplement toChesterman's neglected theoretical research on Oriental language translation.
