2.1 Text Description

2.1.1 The Content of the Source Texts

The book is a collection of the papers related to teaching language and literature in virtual environments with the editor called María Luisa Carrió Pastor, who is a professor of English Language at the Department of Applied Linguistics, Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain). Her research areas are contrastive linguistics, pragmatics, second language acquisition and the analysis of academic and professional discourse. 

She developed the collected papers into four parts. The first part is involved in methodology design for second Language Teaching in Virtual Environments, followed by description of tools for second /foreign language teaching in virtual environment as the second chapter. In the third chapter, specific second language teaching in virtual environment is addressed. Literature teaching in virtual environments are described as the fourth chapter.

The book provides a specific methodology, tools and living examples, describing making research in the virtual environments including lexicology and technology, language teaching tools, specific language teaching and literature teaching in virtual environments. It enables readers to get aware of the importance of language teaching in virtual environment and involve them to participate in the process of language learning and literature learning.

2.2 Pre-translation

The preparation for this non-literary translation also includes 'object study and analysis'. 'Object study and analysis' refers to the necessary understanding of the participants and context involved in the original text.
